Unrefined

The beauty of simplicity is shown in this artistic color print of the facade of Basilica di San Lorenzo, taken by Scott Allen Wilson, Photographer and Digital Artist. In the lower middle of the photo a wooden door is being framed by asymmetrical bricks, placed almost in an unorganized way that ends up forming a perfect composition evoking rhythm. By capturing one of the oldest buildings in Florence, Italy, a different form of architecture is appreciated. glossy Fuji Crystal Archive paper, and mounted beneath acrylic glass. The mounted print is surrounded by a beautiful solid wood frame. Every element of this piece was individually selected with intention as being a part of a unified piece of art.

I think this print perfectly encapsulates the essence and the energy of Florence, Italy. I hope you love it 🙂

Thoughts and Ponderings about Unrefined

To see true beauty is to see beauty in each step in the process- from the beginning to the end. To see true beauty we must fall in love with each follicle- each brick- even as mistakes are made- and even when what we see as flaws rear their heads. To see beauty is to see beauty in life, and in people- before we make adjustments or modify ourselves to try to meet society’s current, and ever-changing expectations of what we should accept as beautiful, or not. We are all unfinished pieces of art, and we are also all uniquely beautiful.
