A Frame Within A Frame
Behind a brick arch, a side view of the Cathedral of Siena peaks out. Highlighted by its striped façade and the contrasting colors of marble, this medieval monument is the protagonist of the city. The blue shades of the cathedral and the sky, create a gentle combination with the earthy colors of the brick frame, which is why it’s combined with a beautiful brown floater frame. This artistic photograph was captured by Photographer and Digital Artist, Scott Allen Wilson in Siena, Italy. The print has been realized on glossy Fuji Crystal Archive paper, displayed underneath a matte float glass. Every element of this piece was individually selected with the intention of being a part of a unified piece of art.
I think this print perfectly encapsulates the essence and the energy of Siena, Italy. I hope you love it 🙂

Thoughts and Ponderings about A Frame Within A Frame
This photo was captured from a little-known point of view, but a very well known street – Via del Castoro, also known as Bear Street, which is a historic street in Siena, Italy. One interesting fact about this street is that it takes its name from the nearby Torre dell’Orsa, or Bear Tower, which was named after the bear that was once displayed on the tower’s crest.
In the Middle Ages, the bear was a symbol of strength and power, and was often used as a symbol of cities and towns. The bear on the tower’s crest was meant to symbolize the strength of Siena and its fortifications.
Today, Via del Castoro is a popular street for shopping, dining, and strolling, and is known for its charming old-world atmosphere. The street is lined with historic buildings, many of which date back to the Middle Ages, and is a great place to get a sense of Siena’s rich history and culture.
